According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there is an estimated 1.2 million people who are living with HIV in the United States. One in five (240,000) of that population are not aware that they are HIV infected. So what does that mean for the people who have unprotected sexual contact with infected individuals who do not know their status?

WHAT HAS KEPT ME ALIVE FOR 30 YEARS!
I believed god was with me protecting me and guiding me on my path, Educating myself about everything HIV adds years to my life. Learning from others that had been living with HIV years before me helped me learn from their mistakes. Feeling like I am supposed to help by telling people and giving others hope of living longer. I pray i will be here to see THE CURE !

GLASGOW — Debates surrounding when to initiate ART was just one of many important take-home messages presented at the HIV11 Congress, according to Melanie Thompson, MD, founder of the AIDS Research Consortium of Atlanta. Thompson also discusses how to approach treatment in patients with HIV/HCV, and the strategies needed to provide optimal treatment in resource-limited areas.

South Georgia-Barney's Pharmacy to advance HIV testing, outreach
Barney's Pharmacy to advance HIV testing, outreach Jake Galdo, a clinical pharmacy educator at Barney's Pharmacy on Peach Orchard Road, hopes to reduce the stigma around HIV testing and the disease. The pharmacy is one of 24 community pharmacies nationwide that will be part of a pilot program to expand rapid HIV testing and public education through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
