The book that made me understand what i was not doing right!

Reading this book, you also learn to let go of anger, through forgiveness of yourself and others. Then love and compassion can flow through your life. Dr. Jampolsky has done much good work with his Center for Attitudinal Healing, but this book may be his greatest achievement. It takes just a short time to read, but it will have a profound impact on your life.
Love Is Letting Go of Fear, Third Edition    I had read everything I could an one do a friend gave me a paper back copy of this book. An when I started reading it I found out why I had stay bogged down by fear to move forward . If you are in same shape as I was this book should help you too. An lets say back in early years of my HIV I was a self-help freak I read everything looking for my answer.. so why don't you try it then pass it on to your friends.      TG Green

P.S.  You have to read the illustrations to get visualization to understand how it all comes together. An open mind to change is a must! You may feel like crying or smiling. But if you really get it an can work this into your own habits you will gain ......lots of understanding how an why!

When to take PEP?

If tackled quickly, the risk of HIV infection can be drastically reduced by PEP

If tackled quickly, the risk of HIV infection can be drastically reduced by PEP- Post-Exposure Prophylaxis
The greatest way to prevent HIV or any STI transmission is safe sex, prevention is always better than cure and condoms 98% of the time will prevent STI transmission. If you fear that you have been exposed to HIV there is still time to prevent becoming HIV positive but you have to act quickly. If you start on PEP within 48 hours on potential exposure to HIV there is a very strong chance you will never develop the disease, at a push 72 hours but after that period the drugs become a lot less effective.

"Someone asked me today. How I made it this long with HIV/AIDS"?
I told them you either "sink or swim" meaning you either "fight or give up"!

COST OF PLAYING UNSAFE!

The lifetime cost of caring for a hepatitis patient is $500,000,
and HIV lifetime health care costs are a minimum of $355,000.
Both can be deadly! Sometimes medicine works sometimes it doesn't. You can become co-infected by both at the same time! Which makes both worse for you. You can't rid yourself of HIV once it has settled in. But you can reinfect yourself with Hepc once you have cleared it with treatment, if you share blood products with another person infected with it.
HIV CAN ONLY BE CURED! OOPS..! THERE ISN'T ONE YET!

WHY DO WE TURN OUR BACKS?

Would you help those in #ALABAMA an #MISSISSIPPI rural areas with obtaining #HIV services? The big cities have plenty but rural areas don't. "RURAL AMERICA HIV TASKFORCE"! Families of every race are suffering in these rural areas of America! Now with ADAP waiting list 163 individuals in 3 states, as of August 15, 2013 . I would probably guess many of these are in rural south an other areas Alabama, Mississippi next probably. Why do our rural HIV infected have to suffer like they wear the "SCARLET LETTER"? The children of these families will be the ones that are hurt the worst. What are these states doing?

Latest ADAP News

The Senate Appropriations Committee passed their version of the FY2014 Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations bill in July.  The bill includes funding for HIV, STD and viral hepatitis programs.  This bill assumes that sequestration will not take place in FY2014, although there is currently no legislation that would eliminate the possibility of sequestration. The House Appropriations Subcommittee did not take up a Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations bill prior to the summer recess.

The Senate’s FY2014 budget includes an increase of $2 million over FY2012 for a total of $2.39 billion for the Ryan White Program, which includes a $10 million increase for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP). Additionally, this total includes the President’s 2011 World AIDS Day ADAP emergency relief funding (ERF) of $35 million. The Ryan White Part B base FY2014 funding was reduced by $1.5 million from FY2012 levels. The President’s FY2014 budget request included an increase of $10 million for ADAP and it flat funded the Part B base from FY2012.

The FY2013 ERF funds will be awarded to ADAPs later this summer.  The FY2013 ERF funds consist of$65 million dollars in competing continuation funds for existing ERF grantees and $10 million in new competing funds available to ADAPs not previously receiving ERF.  The budget period for these FY2013 ERF funds will be six months (through March 31, 2014) to allow  future alignment of the FY2014 ADAP ERF (if funds are available) and FY2014 Part B base/ADAP earmark awards.

Waiting List Client Demographics

Waiting List Client Demographics

Waiting List Organization: Waiting list clients are prioritized by one of two models:
  • First-come, first-served model:  placing individuals on the waiting list in order of receipt of a completed application and eligibility confirmation (3 ADAPs).
  • Medical criteria model:  based on hierarchical medical criteria based on recommendations by the ADAP Advisory Committee (0 ADAPs).
Access to Medications: All three ADAPs with waiting lists confirm that case management services assist clients in obtaining medications through the HarborPath ADAP waiting list program or pharmaceutical company patient assistance programs (PAPs) while clients are on the waiting list.

Will New HIV Meds be intime?

HIV, the human immunodeficiency virus that causes AIDS, infects about 1.1 million Americans, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. By 2015, about half that number is expected to be ages 50 or older, and many of those have stayed alive over the years by mixing and matching about 30 approved HIV drugs that, for the most part, came on the market before 2004.

DON'T BE CHASING HIV!

Bugchasing is a slang term for the practice of pursuing sexual intercourse with HIV-infected individuals in order to contract HIV. Individuals engaged in this activity are referred to as bugchasers. It is a form of self-harm.

The reckless practice, known as bug chasing, started in the US as a bizarre means of getting a ¬sexual high from risk-taking.
Are Bugchasers an Barebackers the cause of the spread of "NEW HIV CASES in 2013?

GET HIV TESTING in ALABAMA HERE

WHY SO LITTLE #HIV FUNDS IN RURAL @ALABAMA?

http://www.hivplusmag.com/case-studies/research-breakthroughs/2013/07/23/first-time-ever-hiv-cases-reported

The 10 states wher HIV is most prevalent — New York, Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Florida,
California, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama — are mostly located in the northeastern and southern regions of the country. Although the first HIV cases were mostly in large urban areas, today nearly every area in the United States is affected.

But out of all the hardest hit states in the South, Alabama is by far the worst to provide testing and prevention services. ‪#‎HIV

NO HELP IN @ALABAMA FOR RURAL ‪#‎HIV‬ RESIDENTS! Despite being home to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, one of the best teaching hospitals in the country, Alabama only has 11 organizations receiving funds for HIV/AIDS medical care, and of those 11, just five are located in rural areas, which comprises the majority of the state. WERE DOES THE FUNDING GO?

ASK WHO HANDLES FUNDING IN ALABAMA..WHY? IS THERE SO LITTLE FUNDING IN RURAL AREAS IN ALABAMA?

A disaster is here #Alabama #South #HIV!

Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and east Texas “HIV is exploding in these states,” because  "They Don't get tested for ‪#‎HIV"‬! AN maybe would risk their lives.. than.. let anyone know their biz!
Then when they get too sick to care for themselves an can't hide anymore...they might give in to seeing
a doctor but most the time its too late. HIV doesn't just hurt the individuals it hurts families, children, wives, husbands, mother etc. I found out I was HIV in the beginning when we barely had heard about it. My mom an sister have suffered from the loss of me everyday as HIV/AIDS robs a little bit of me each day. So if you don't "GET TESTED 4 HIV" for yourselves? Do it for the ones that it could hurt. An if you know you have a risky lifestyle or your seeing someone that has risky lifestyle...PROTECT YOURSELVES!
